Qantas Frequent Flyer's "Top-up Points" pricing is tiered by volume rather than a single flat rate: about 3.86 cents USD per point for a small top-up, sliding down to about 1.84 cents USD per point only if you buy the maximum 150,000-point block in one transaction (capped at four purchases per rolling 12 months, and you need 30+ days of membership). The gotcha to flag prominently: Qantas carrier-imposed fuel surcharges are among the highest in the industry on Qantas-operated Classic Rewards — routinely A$300+ one-way and A$500+ return in business class on routes like Melbourne-Singapore.
